Le Chef Complet opened in June 2000. The owner, Patrick Plunkett, has always had a passion for food and cooking. After attending the Culinary Arts program at George Brown College, instead of working in a restaurant he decided to use his knowledge by creating the kind of kitchen shop that he himself would like to be a customer of. A shop that was not only a place to purchase kitchen related items, but was also a resource centre where like minded people could come to exchange culinary ideas.

After three years at the original location on Pearl Street, the shop was moved to a larger facility on Brant Street. This larger location enabled Le Chef Complet to offer cooking classes, which have become a large part of the operation. Le Chef Complet is located at 447 Brant Street, Burlington, just slightly North of Burlington City Hall.
